Hatha Yoga actually is all physical yoga that we practice today, from Ashtanga, Iyengar, to Vinyasa or Bikram. it means the use of Asana , Pranyama and meditaiton practices
but the term Hatha Yoga is commonly used to decribe a yoga class where there is more emphasis on the postures and not the flow in between them.
In my Hatha Classes- I use the term ‘Hatha’ in the sense that is is the yoga of action and through my experience, many styles have interchangeable elements; more similarity than difference.
The classes yoga is at a slower pace class; with the attention on alignment and taking time to get in and out of positions safely I focus greatly on allowing you to bring deeper body awareness.
You will learn classical physical postures and sequences as well as breathing and relaxation techniques. This class can be challenging but taught in an accessible way; with the deeper awareness of your own body, practising from a place of inner wisdom. I like to encourage students to take their yoga home and explore for themselves. not every posture has to be ‘perfect’, but perfect for them today.
Who is this class for?
This class is for those who want to gain strength, flexibility and improve body posture. As well release tension and balance the body and mind. there is a lot of information in this class so suitable for those who want to really understand their practice of yoga, what they are doing and why.
Gentle Hatha Yoga-
these gentler classes have evolved out of my love for pregnancy yoga classes, the flowing movements and grounding work are energy boosting and deeply relaxing.
The class focus on unwinding, releasing tension and revitalising the body and mind. You will learn playful flowing sequences postures and breathing technique that can help you in your daily life.
I have found these practices to be beneficial to all, great for alignment, joint problems, lower back pain. of course in pregnancy and also postnatal and all the days in a women’s cycle. Perfect for days when you don’t have full energies, for stress relief and finding balance in your life.
